It's THE classic for Christmas: Most people can be enthusiastic about French potato salad. It gets even better with homemade mayonnaise!
What belongs in the French salad? Potatoes, peas, carrots, pickles and of course MAYONNAISE. We like to squeeze the latter out of the pack, but we all agree that homemade mayo can't hold a candle to it. Even more: it is a real game changer! And not that difficult to prepare. We'll show you how it's done!
Ingredients for homemade mayonnaise:
- 1 egg
- 100 ml of vegetable oil
- Splash of lemon juice
- 1 tbsp mustard
- pinch of salt
- Pinch of pepper
You can prepare the mayonnaise with a hand mixer or a hand mixer. To do this, first put the egg in a tall vessel and stir it at low speed. Gradually add the oil. Season with mustard, lemon, salt and pepper at the end. Make sure that the mayonnaise has a nice, creamy consistency. Tip: Eggs and oil should be at room temperature before processing.
