A speech everyone should hear and see: Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z's acceptance speech at the GLAAD Media Awards, where they talked about LGBTQ + rights and their personal experiences!

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are probably something like the ruling, royal couple in the music scene. An award ceremony is therefore not uncommon for the two of them; but this appearance was a rarity: they recently received the Vanguard Award at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards. GLAAD stands for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and is an American organization. At the celebration, awards have been given annually since 1990 to US media in the news and entertainment industry for fair, accurate and integrative presentations of the LGBTQI community and their environment.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z received the Vanguard Award because they have been promoting equal acceptance around the LGBTQI community for years. During the acceptance speech, the two of them mainly talked about their own experiences. Jay-Z told of his mother, who came out as a lesbian late in her life: "I can follow in her footsteps and spread love and acceptance," he said and thanked her for including her story in his songs was allowed to process.

Beyoncé also spoke very personal words and dedicated the award to her uncle Johnny, who died of HIV. In her acceptance speech, Beyoncé described her uncle as "the most fabulous gay I have ever met" and said: "He lived his truth, was brave and did not apologize - at a time when this country was not yet so tolerant."
"Choosing who you love is your human right. How you identify and see yourself is your human right!" Word, Queen B. !!! And here you can see the whole emotional speech:
