You have your days, want to go swimming - but without tampons? No problem, because luckily there are now swimwear with built-in leak protection.

A bold claim: each of us pleaded at least once in our youth to the goddess of menstruation to please spare us or just show up a few days later. Especially in two situations: before a rendezvous & on a summer weekend with swimming pool plans. Of course we were not spared and had to make do with a tampon at least for the latter activity.
For all the girls who usually like to wear tampons, this is no big deal. But for the Binden community this is always an overcoming. I speak from experience! For more than a year, I've even said goodbye to the sanitary towels and only use period underwear. You can read songs of praise for it here, here, and here. These panties are so comfortable and pleasant to wear that you almost forget your period. If you could also wear them for swimming …
You can! So not the period briefs, but the period swimwear. Because the American brand Ruby Love produces bikinis and swimsuits for the corresponding days of the month. And no, they neither look boring, nor is the crotch area noticeably sewn. These are completely normal bathing parts - plain colors and with a pattern.
The panties last as long as about three tampons. You can also increase this protection by gluing in an additional pad - then it is a protection for up to six tampons. According to the manufacturer, the material does not absorb with water. So you don't suddenly come out of the water with a diaper on. Sounds too good to be true? Somehow. However, Ruby Love has been selling period swimwear since 2016 - before the hype about alternative menstrual products.
The reason why many women only now became aware of the brand has to do with the Black Lives Matter movement. Because in the context of shoutouts on social media, the focus fell on the black company founder Crystal Etienne. She founded Ruby Love in 2015 because she watched her own daughter struggle with the failures of various period products. According to her own website, the mother of two had then started to tinker with the ingenious design of the underpants. At the beginning of 2016, she sold her first products, paving the way for other companies that have embraced sustainable menstruation over the past few years.
