A photo artist documents the pioneering work of women over the past centuries. From fishermen to law enforcement officers - everything is possible today.

He has had various celebrities in front of the lens. But no project has ever impressed him as much as working on "Women's Work". Here the US photo artist Chris Crisman documents the pioneering work of women over the past centuries. He visualizes her assertiveness in professions that have long been dominated by men. Today everything is possible - from fishermen to law enforcement officers to sports managers. Why? Because we women can do it easily.
Sadie Samuels is a fisherwoman. She only wants one thing for the rest of her life: fishing for lobsters in Maine, USA. "The sea is everything to me," she says. "When I'm stressed, I just listen to the waves." Her father runs a lobster fishery. Even as a child she helped him with this. When she earned her first money with it, it was clear: Sadie doesn't want to do anything else since then. "Most of my colleagues are older, salty men, but they respect me as completely equal. They see me more as a younger person than a woman." The 27-year-old is also not deterred by the working hours. It starts at 4 a.m. and continues to fish until sunset.
