You take the train from Luxembourg City to Clervaux in the Éislek region in the north of the country. The picturesque town is located in the deep valley of the Clerve in the center of the Ardennes and is dominated by the Benedictine abbey of St. Mauritius and St. Maurus. The “City of Images” transforms Clervaux into an exhibition space for contemporary photography in the open air: free-standing images merge with the city, its historical flair and nature to form a total work of art.

The majestic Clervaux Castle is enthroned on the foothills of a rock spur and has several sights to offer. In addition to the exhibition of the models of the castles in Luxembourg and the Museum of the Ardennes Offensive with weapons and souvenirs of the Ardennes Offensive (1944-1945), the largest photo exhibition of all time is also located here.

"The Family of Man" has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003 and contains 503 photographs by 273 authors from 68 countries. Everything revolves around the question: What is humanity? The famous collection was put together by Edward Steichen - an American photographer and curator of Luxembourg origin - and first displayed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1955. The legendary exhibition is now permanently housed in Clervaux Castle.
For dinner and / or overnight stay, head to the nearby Château d'Urspelt. The castle, located in the heart of the Our Nature Park, combines the hospitality and comfort of a four-star hotel with the unique ambience of a historic building. A wellness area with a themed swimming pool, two hammams, two private saunas, a whirlpool and a fitness room invites you to relax after an eventful day. Here you can unwind, recharge your batteries - and look forward to the next day trip!
