Day trip # 1: Birdwatching in the nature reserve Haff Réimech

The Biodiversum nature conservation center is around half an hour's drive from Luxembourg City. The futuristically designed building was erected on an artificially created island in the Haff Réimech nature reserve, which offers a resting place and habitat for many species of birds. From various observation huts you can watch migratory birds, among other things, that make a stopover on their journey. In the summer, the digger ponds adjacent to the nature conservation center provide cooling.

After birdwatching - as is so often the case in Luxembourg - relaxation and enjoyment are on the program. In the Moselle valley there is not only a picturesque landscape to discover, but also internationally renowned wines to be tasted. For dinner, head to the Bistrot Gourmand in Remerschen, which offers French delicacies and Parisian flair.

Relaxation and enjoyment also have top priority on the second day trip. The only thermal bath in the Grand Duchy is located 25 minutes by car southeast of the capital: the Mondorf Domaine Thermal invites you to relax with bathing facilities that are supplied with a thermal spring with a high mineral content of 36 ° C, massages, a sauna pavilion and other wellness offers.

Well rested, it’s off to the nearby community of Schengen, which became famous through the agreement signed here in 1985. Its history and significance are conveyed in an entertaining and interactive way in a permanent exhibition in the European Museum Schengen.

At the end of the day, you shouldn't miss a visit to the Léa Linster restaurant. The restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star, is run by Louis Linster, the son of the internationally known star chef and to date the only female “Bocuse d’Or” winner, and promises culinary delights at the highest level. We wish you bon appétit!
