Chances are you've also seen this series on Netflix lately: "Emily in Paris" is the streaming provider's new hit and the latest creation from Sex and the City producer Darren Star and iconic costume designer Patricia Field. The comedy accompanies the young American Emily (Lily Collins), who surprisingly has to start a new job in Paris - without speaking a word of French.
And then the hype about the series was perfect - after all, we are all CONSTANTLY hungry for addictive material in practical, half-hourly form. But if you scratch the really perfect surface of "Emily" with all the romantic Paris locations, the well-designed outfits and the all too perfect career path of the protagonist, then the whole thing lacks the substance that is instead riddled with clichés.
But not only the series works on superficialities and clichés, we can do that too! And therefore present the good-looking love interest of the main actress in order to take a closer look: Lucas Bravo aka Chef Gabriel.
Who is Lucas Bravo?
Which came first - Lucas or the script? Because the 32-year-old is actually French, he moved from Nice, the French Riviera, where he was born, to Paris and he also worked as a cook. Not as a potential celebrity chef as in the series, but only as a sous-chef, but the omelette with which he charmed Emily he actually cooked himself.
He spent his childhood as the son of a professional footballer in various nations, including Italy. He also tried his hand at modeling and was seen in a spot for Chanel, among other things, and in French productions as an actor for film and television.
In his younger years, he said he devoured every single Sex and the City episode, which is why his friends teased him a lot. But he only replies: "There is so much information in it! You should also educate yourself!"
