It's amazing what topics there are scientific studies! Thankfully, we now know that men eat far more food in the presence of women who want to impress them.
Scientific or pseudo-scientific studies really circulate on every topic on the Internet. And some often say the opposite of the other. But THIS study should have a unique selling point: It has now been proven that men eat 93% more pizza in the presence of women who want to impress them!
Phew, yes - what do we do with this brand new information? Almost fresh out of the oven. At least we now know that doing research at Cornell University in New York, where this study was conducted, should be quite amusing. And the next time someone greedily eats away in your presence, you can probably see that as a compliment.
The study was carried out over two weeks in an Italian all-you-can-eat buffet, where men who dined with women and not with men or alone not only ate more pizza, but also ate 86% more salad. It's just getting scary!
The results were interpreted in such a way that men simply enjoy showing off their abilities. Apparently also with the elasticity of the stomach walls. Just think of feeding competitions.
The fact that excessive pizza consumption (we generously omit the salad) leads to weight gain in the long term, which nowadays no longer falls under the common ideal of beauty even among men, should be deliberately ignored with this flirting tactic. One hopes that the advertising phase doesn't last too long. Although most of them also increase within relationships - that probably has to do with the eroticism that has persisted over the years. Or so.
Incidentally, the eating behavior of women did not change, regardless of whether they were seated opposite a man or a woman. They only felt a little stressed at times, as their male table colleagues triumphantly plastered the pizza so impressively quickly.
