What does BB mean?

It means blemish or beauty balm and combines make-up and day care in one goodie. BB creams are considered the successor to the simple, tinted day cream. The skin should be well cared for and look even. Depending on the ingredients, BB creams also refine large pores and give them a glow.

Opacity

While the concealing ability of the first BB creams left a lot to be desired, this has evolved significantly with the new generation. An increased pigment content in many creams now promises much better coverage. However, this varies a lot from product to product. Tip: When buying, test, depending on your needs, whether the texture covers the problem areas well.

Clay technique

With most BBs you can - with a few exceptions - only choose between two nuances. Important: Since not every shade can match every skin color here, it is essential to try it in daylight beforehand.

Active ingredients

The latest BB creams use more ingredients: salicylic acid and vitamin A accelerate skin renewal and thus improve its radiance. The skin receives a lot of moisture from active ingredients such as shea butter, pro-vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid. Important antioxidants and the UV filter built into a surprising number of products also protect the complexion from solar radiation.

Conclusion

They used to be ideal for women with normal skin, but now there are BB creams for all needs. The choice is huge, from oil-free to intensely caring textures. The only exception: with really problematic skin such as acne, the finish is not satisfactory - only the foundation will help.

What does CC

The abbreviation comes from Complexion or Color Corrector. CC creams are a further development of BB creams. In most cases, the skin's appearance should not be improved for a short time, but permanently: In addition to correcting redness, bumps and fine lines, annoying pigment spots are also gradually reduced.

Opacity

Since CC creams take care of the long-term improvement of the skin, the opacity is very different. As a beauty benefit, they rely more on ingredients that ensure a youthful glow. Microscopic pearl particles are used here - they break the light radiation, scatter it and thus create a fresh complexion.

Clay technique

Some brands offer up to five shades! Only the CC-Creams from L´Oréal are available in a mint green color (harmonizes redness) - see slideshow above. But don't worry, their color capsules automatically adapt to the skin tone.

Active ingredients

The full power of moisture is secured with cucumber water, glycerine and hyaluronic acid and the unique active ingredient cocktail of the CCs. In addition, vitamins E and C are usually also a component - they rebuild the firming collagen, have an antioxidant effect and are therefore real anti-aging weapons. As a visual treat, there are fruit extracts that reduce pigmentation disorders and lighten the skin.

Conclusion

The focus here is primarily on luminosity and the balance of the skin's moisture balance. Because of the anti-aging ingredients and brighteners, CC creams are also very suitable for mature skin. They also offer a reliably high level of sun protection against harmful UV rays.
