Moschino celebrated its 30th anniversary in September. A new fashion designer will be at the helm from next year: the disgusting US designer Jeremy Scott.
In 30 years the Italian fashion house Moschino changed the creative head at the top of the label only twice: until 1994 the founder, Franco Moschino managed the fortunes of the brand, after his death Rossella Jardini took over.
The Italian said goodbye at this year's Milan Fashion Week with her spring / summer 2014 collection. It is now clear who will soon be at the helm of creativity: the American designer Jeremy Scott.
Scott, who learned his trade at New York's Pratt Institute, launched his own label in 1997 and has worked with music stars such as Rihanna (25, 'Diamonds'), Katy Perry (29, 'Firework') and Lady Gaga throughout his career (27, 'Applause') together.
Previously, he teamed up with Linda Farrow, Longchamp and Swatch and designed eccentric collections for Adidas Originals that included teddy bears and cow-print sneakers.
"Jeremy has the right talent for the legacy of the fashion house, he can tell a new story, is ironic and unusual," said Massimo Ferretti, Aeffe boss. Moschino is part of Aeffe SpA, a company that controls other luxury labels.
