Actually, the motto when applying make-up is that you shouldn't use too much blush. But this make-up technique is exactly the opposite!

Bridal make-up can generally be described as delicate, reserved and elegant. But a modern breeze is also blowing through the world of wedding fashion and more and more newlyweds are choosing their own approach to their wedding. And you can also try something new with make-up. Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge didn't create the following look for brides directly, but she certainly doesn't mind if you interpret it that way.

In a video tutorial she demonstrated her "Watercolor Blush" technique. In doing so, she creates a colorful, fresh look for which she only uses different shades of blush. Sounds a bit extreme, but it's just as theatrical as you'd like it to be. Because how much rouge is enough rouge, you decide for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • Different shades of blush, preferably in powder form
  • One brush per blush
  • Transparent powder for mending

This is how the (simplified) "Watercolor Blush" technique works:

Important in advance: apply make-up as usual and then cover it with transparent powder so that the blush can be better blended!

Start with a delicate, matte blush. Apply to the cheeks and spread over the eyelids. Again and again tap the brush and only apply the paint very gently. True to the motto: You can always do more, but you can't take away the applied paint. Good color: Close to your own skin tone when you blush or old rose!

Now work with a delicate but slightly shiny blush. Apply to the inner corner of the eye, to the temples and a little to the side of the forehead above the eyes. The shine is used to highlight the light areas of the face. Good color: Peach tones with a golden sheen.

Now is the time to deepen the base! For this, a slightly stronger color can be unpacked. Apply to the center of the cheeks, eyelids and temples. We are also happy to vary colors. Always pause and compare the result. If it is too extreme, you can readjust it with a large, soft brush and a little powder. Good color: Hot pink, hot peach, lilac or berry tones.
