The long-awaited James Bond movie is finally here! It will be the fifth and final part with Daniel Craig in the lead role. The star line-up at the premiere in the Royal Albert Hall in London was huge and of course a few royals were not missing. Duchess Kate moved on with her golden evening dress everyone's attention.

The look is more eye-catching than we are usually used to from her. Most of the time, the colors of her outfits are muted and the make-up is very natural. The pictures of her went viral immediately: Social media was full of it in no time. Royal fans only talked about the Duchess of Cambridge and her great dress.

Of course, nothing is left to chance on an evening like this. The hair, makeup and jewelry were also perfect. The face glowy, the hair pinned up and a big smile: it seemed to radiate inside and out. British Vogue even referred to her robe as "an evening gown that was worthy of even the most glamorous of all Bond girls."

Tribute to Princess Di

As we already know, the royals rarely wear anything without a deeper meaning. Just as Duchess Meghan was recently spotted wearing very special jewelry in a video, Kate's dress is a tribute to the late mother the Prince William and Harry, Lady Diana. In 1985 she wore a floor-length glitter dress that is very similar to Kate's cut, especially when it comes to the cut. The shoulder pads, the tailored cut and the V-neckline are unmistakable. Fun fact: Princess Di also attended a Bond premiere in the gown.

Duchess Kate's favorite designer

The woman behind the dream look is Kates Favorite designer Jenny Packham. The floor-length dress was, of course, one Made to measure for the Duchess, you can now buy it on Farfetch for just under 5,300 euros. Far from being a bargain, surprisingly it doesn't cost more than many of the designer’s other creations. Packham has just designed its own wedding collection for The Outnet, a sister company of Net-a-Porter based in London. She tells us how it came about.

WOMAN: Why a wedding collaboration with The Outnet?

PACKHAM: Bridal fashion is evolving and the most interesting thing is: brides are changing the way they shop. With the way wedding planning has been going on over the past year, online shopping has suddenly become an option. This collection is the answer to a new era in bridal fashion.

How did you ultimately choose the individual silhouettes?

PACKHAM: They are among the most modern styles I've ever designed. Wedding dresses reflect the current fashion trends more than ever. Nobody wants to look into the past right now - living in the moment has never felt so desirable.

What are your favorite pieces and why?

PACKHAM: I couldn't make up my mind yet! I'm really excited to see which styles the brides will love. Although "Wild Orchid" with its pearl and crystal bead embroidery and tulip sleeves is a great dress for a small town hall ceremony or a second dress for dancing.

How would you describe the typical Jenny Packham customer?

PACKHAM: A fashion-conscious woman who has taste - and a very romantic pin board on Pinterest!

How do you think the way brides buy their wedding dress has changed over the past year?

PACKHAM: Brides have been both resilient and patient over the past year - the reward is that there is now more to celebrate: not just being together, but the invincible power of love. In addition, the shopping trends may have changed a bit, but a bride's desire to find THAT dress goes on forever …
