One of the best food combinations? Pineapple with Coconut! Tastes fruity and fresh - and is super healthy. The chefs of the base box have used both power ingredients in a breakfast recipe.
Imagine how you put your feet into the turquoise sea on a lonely island, the waves caress your calves, the sun shines comfortably warm on your skin while you spoon a fruity pineapple and coconut muesli … Sounds good, doesn't it? Unfortunately we can't do that with the lonely island, but we can with the Pina Colada Porridge.
The coconut is particularly easy to digest, ensures a long feeling of satiety and is full of minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus). Lots of bromelain in the juicy pineapple help the body break down protein and thus make proteins more digestible. The Basenbox team has come up with an excellent breakfast with the two power ingredients - one that tastes good at any time.
Recipe for Pina Colada Porridge (1 serving):
You need this:
- 50 g rice semolina
- 100 ml coconut milk
- 10 g coconut flakes
- 100 g pineapple
- 5 g chia seeds
- Topping: 1-2 chopped dates
That's how it's done:
Bring rice semolina, coconut milk, coconut flakes and chia seeds to the boil in a saucepan and stir. If necessary add a little water.
Chop the pineapple and dates and mix with the porridge. Enjoy warm or cold.
