Artificial fingernails that have grown out? Now is not the worst thing about the quarantine, but if the "approach" is very annoying, you can hide it quickly.
Did you have beautiful gel nails made for you before the start of the quarantine? Then you are in a bit of a quandary. Because you'd prefer to ignore the claws that have grown out of them, but once the pink elephant has been mentioned, you can't get it out of your head. On the other hand, you don't want to break anything by trying to remove the gel layer yourself. So what to do
We are always happy that there are so many creative minds out there who share their brilliant ideas with us on Instagram, Twitter & Co. Because there is a solution for this problem too! We admit that this is only a temporary solution. But this trick is so easy and requires so few resources that you really don't lose anything in the process.
Either glitter nail polish or loose glitter is needed for the hack (it works best with coarser glitter flakes). File the nails to the desired length; to get in shape. Now the glitter nail polish is used: Dab a generous amount on the "nail base" - do not spread! The layer should be thick so that it reaches the same height as the gel nails. With the loose glitter: Apply a layer of nail polish as desired and dab the glitter on it. Let it dry and cover with a topcoat. Maybe repeat the first step so that the layer is nice and thick.
The result should at least keep you from the urge to still play nail designer and only make things worse as you try to save the day. Of course, your claws will continue to grow and at some point even glitter won't help to hide this fact. But we hope now that it won't get that far in the first place!
