We've all wanted to have bangs cut, right? Many of us probably have - and some have regretted afterwards. It's such a thing with forehead fringes. They can look really good, but unfortunately they don't suit everyone.

The reason for this is that, for the most part, they are very dense and form a straight line just above the eyebrows. This often seems very strict and does not fit every face shape. If you still want to dare (again), we recommend the Light version of the pony: Curtain bangs.

Why the light version?

Unlike the classic pony, the curtain bangs are a little longer and tiered. The hair opens on the forehead almost by itself and frame the face. They gently play around the contours of the face and ensure a cool makeover without changing too much. Plus, this hairstyle screams for vintage flair and French chic! The reason for this: In the 1960s, it was the signature look of film star and fashion icon Brigitte Bardot.

A whole range of celebrities, for example Selena Gomez or JLo, are spotted with the look from time to time. Other prominent women such as fashion entrepreneur Jeanne Damas, actress Dakota Johnson and musician Camila Cabello have been wearing it for years.

How do you style curtain bangs?

The Austrian influencer @rubeyray has also been wearing the cool hairstyle for some time. We asked her how she styles her curtain bangs: "I blow dry my forehead fringes from top to bottom, then from left and right. This creates a messy look that I personally like very much. When the hairstyle should look more put together, I blow dry them with a round brush. You can work very well with it."

If you have a natural wave, either iron it flat with a straightening iron or knead it and let it air-dry. Even curly forehead fringehave been trendier than ever since last year.

"I think you just have to try it out a bit and see how you like it best," says Rabea. So that the hairstyle lasts better, you can simply fix it with a bit of hairspray. It is best to spray from further away - otherwise the approach will quickly look greasy.

Speaking of a greasy approach: Especially with forehead fringes, it can sometimes happen that they look a bit oily, while the rest of the hair is still totally fresh. That SOS tool is called dry shampoo, or you tie back the lengths and wash (only) the bangs over the sink.
