Clogs are currently celebrating their big comeback as THE summer sandal of the year. The slipper-like shoes - originally from England and Sweden - are open at the back and mostly have thick wooden soles. And should they be cool? Even though this shoe was trending before, at least I somehow always have Grandma's old garden slippers in my head when I think of it. Because of their robustness, they are the perfect work shoes.
But eventually that would be not the first "Ugly Trend", which the fashion world picks up and adapts to an absolute fashion hit. We remember dad sneakers, chunky sandals, Birkenstocks or Crocs. No more trace of ugly, but super-mega-hip. Designers such as Dior, Hermès, Miu Miu or Jacquemus give them a modern touch and ensure that the fashionistas of the hour have them on their feet, of course.
